5 Tips for your Closet
1. Out of sight, out of mind
√ If you can’t see it, you really won’t remember that you have it. Having closed bins, or things hanging over other things will make you miss those items every time you’re looking for something to wear.
2. If you haven’t worn it in 6 months, you probably never will
√ Obviously not talking about holiday items or formal attire just for weddings, etc.
√ Basic items like jeans, sweaters, tank tops. If you haven’t worn it in over 6 months and its season has come and gone, it’s unlikely you’ll ever wear it. Let it go and make space.
3. Having all your hangers match will instantly make your closet look for organized
√ This is just an easy hack to make your closet look much more aesthetically pleasing without having to do a whole lot of work.
√ And if you got those velvet hangers you will actually increase your space too!
√ Here’s a link for velvet hangers on Amazon: Basics Slim Velvet, Non-Slip Suit Clothes Hangers, Pack of 100, Black/Silver
4. Sorting your closet by categories will make it easier to get dressed
√ I actually don’t know how anyone functions without this one. I can’t imagine searching my whole closet for one tank top.
√ Having all your pants, dresses, jackets, etc. sorted into specific sections will make it a lot easier to pull an outfit together.
5. Some things do better hung, some things do better folded
√ I could do a whole post on this alone. But some items like delicate sweaters are better folded. The fabric won’t stretch out, and the sweater will keep its shape better. While coats are better hung. Keeps the wrinkles out, and it’s more space conscious.
