Closet Transitions Between Seasons

To follow up on last week’s email. We were talking about what to do to prepare your closet for transitioning to the next season.

So once you’ve done those steps, here’s what I recommend for the actual transition.

1. Pull out sweaters, winter jackets, heavy items you won’t be wearing anymore.

  • This might need some baby steps meaning, you might have some sweaters you could still wear in the evenings until things warm up even more.

  • And then there’s stuff that might not be too heavy weight, but they just “feel” very winter like velvet or wool. So even if you could still wear them temperature wise, you won’t because they just look like winter clothes. So pull all those out too.

2. Depending on your closet layout, just move these items to the back, or the harder to reach areas and pull all your summer wardrobe to the front.

3. Organize things in a way that make your spring summer items more accessible and the winter items further away, even blocked or hidden, if needed for space.

4. I’d also like to shout-out the accessories.

  • Move the winter accessories, hats, scarves, etc, to the back or the bottoms of the piles and pull forward your summer hats and scarves.

  • Maybe bring your swim and pool cover-ups out. Sometimes even looking at them, you’ll know which items you wanna get rid of before the season really starts.

  • Just seeing some of your summer items you’ll already see things to get rid of.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Tami Sofia
